Vallina’s Gin is a mysterious limited edition gin that manages to distinguish itself from other gins thanks to the infusion of “the tears of the Greek mastic tree”.
The tears refer to the resin of the mastic tree (Pistacia Lentiscus) which flavours Vallina Gin and belongs to the same family as the mango and pistachio. Almost the entire creation process of the resin, better known as Masticha, takes place on the Greek Island of Chios.
It is a separate gin with a hazy white appearance caused by the resin. It surprises with its original and unique taste.
Vallina’s gin is marketed exclusively in collaboration with Distillery Massy in Houthalen.
Vallina Nelles and her mother Mariane have run the well-known restaurant O’ Geros in Genk together for 10 years. Not only do the customers enjoy the family cooking but they often serve as the test public for the original drinks which Vallina prepares.
Vallina’s passion for mixology quickly became part of the attraction to visit the restaurant and the guests would eagerly await her latest and brightest creations with gin or cocktails. These experiments have accumulated into an exceptional Masticha based gin which proved to be popular among customers and connoisseurs alike.
Therefore, the decision to move onto bottling Vallina’s Gin as a product was a no-brainer.
